Repair Work Underway on I-70 Bridges in Ellis County

The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has started work on a bridge repair project along I-70 in Ellis County.

According to KDOT, crews are completing surface and substructure work on the bridges carrying I-70 over 160th Avenue, located approximately 4 miles east of Exit 145 at Ellis. Traffic in both directions has been reduced to one lane through the work zones, and a 60 mph speed limit is in effect.

KDOT expects project work to be completed by the end of September, conditions permitting.

PCiRoads of St. Michael, Minnesota is the project’s primary contractor with a total contract cost of approximately $676,000.

KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones.
