Russell Community Thanksgiving Dinner Serves Record of More Than 600 Meals

The Russell Community Thanksgiving Dinner served a record of more than 600 meals on Thursday according to volunteers.

Volunteers initially only planned for 500 meals.

That meal total included 325 deliveries, 275 curbside pick-ups and approximately 20 volunteers.

That also included 385 pounds of turkey, 200 pounds of potatoes, 16 pounds of green beans, 15 pounds of applesauce, seven gallons of gravy, 90 boxes of stove top, eight pounds of bacon, more than 60 volunteers, more than 240 hours and 14 delivery routes.

This year's dinner was delivery and curbside pick-up only due to COVID-19 precautions.
