Russell County Commissioners Hold Revenue Neutral Rate Public Hearing for 2025 Budget
The Russell County Commissioners met Tuesday and held a revenue neutral rate public hearing for the 2025 budget.
Several members of the public attended the meeting and voiced their concerns regarding increased property taxes, property valuations and rising costs. The hearing lasted about 50 minutes.
Following the hearing, the Commissioners voted to exceed the revenue neutral rate for the 2025 budget, but tabled the actual budget hearing and also tabled the approval of the budget.
Russell County Administrator Stephanie Grisham explains.
The Russell County Commissioners will hold a special meeting on Monday, September 9 at 9 AM at the Russell County Courthouse for the budget hearing. They may take action following the hearing.
Also Tuesday, the Commissioners discussed road and bridge projects.
