Russell County Leadership Class Three Seminar Three Recap
Last week, Russell County Leadership Class Three gathered for its third seminar and focused on professionalism and personal development.
According to RCL, hosted by Southwind Bank in their boardroom that overlooks downtown Russell, they started the day with hearing from Andrea Krauss who discussed the power of professionalism. Through her presentation she discussed things as simple as how to introduce yourself to make a lasting impression, communicating in a professional manner and how to present yourself within your community and its impact.
Next, they were able to hear from USD 407 Superintendent Jordan Perez on challenges the schools face including aging facilities, budget constraints and cost of resources. He gave the associates an inside look at the big picture of how these all intertwine and the effect it has within the community.
Joining Perez from USD 407 and the Russell Police Department, Student Resource Officer Trevor Musgrove discussed the partnership and approach he has taken with teachers, students and parents. Serving as an ally to the community, enhancing security and all students experiences at school.
Shortly before they enjoyed lunch from Waudby's Sports Bar, Beth Pfeifer from Rotary Interact shared the importance of the group for students and how her mission is to instill leadership and initiating responsibility to every member. Rotary Interact opens doors for students in various ways. She stressed the importance of getting involved in the community and giving back by letting the students choose their service projects that appeal to them.
To round out the day and truly hone in on their personal development journey, the group got to experience a four-hour class from a Gallup Certified Coach J.J. Jones who dove into each associates personalities and how they impact leadership strengths.
According to RCL, the entire day was impactful and inspiring to know the wonderful things the community has implemented and developed, while learning how personal leadership qualities can help enhance Russell County for the better.
RCL thanks everyone who helps make these seminars a success. A special thanks to the speakers for peeling back the layers on their craft to give these community members a look at the big picture.
