Update on Russell's New Senior Housing Development

Flintwood, the new affordable housing development designed to meet the needs of local seniors, is coming along nicely. The project has started vertical construction with several units already seeing framing. HOI is working closely with contractors to stay on schedule and ensure the delivery of high-quality housing.

Flintwood is set to be ready for units to be occupied in early 2026. Interested individuals should call Housing Opportunities, Inc at 620-792-3299 to discuss opportunities, qualifying requirements, or to be added to the waiting list.

The City of Russell and Russell County are working closely with Housing Opportunities, Inc. (HOI), to provide 24 two-bedroom, one-bathroom duplex units for residents aged 55 and older. Flintwood will also include a community room, offering a shared space for social activities and events that will be available to tenants.

Flintwood is funded through Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and HOME Funds provided by the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC). HOI will serve as both the owner and property manager of the development.
