Voter Registration Underway for August 4 Primary Election

With the August 4 Primary Election now less than a month away, Russell County Clerk and Elections Officer Kristi Whitman wants voters to know about some important dates and information.

Voter registration is open and will continue until Tuesday, July 14 at 5 PM. Residents can register at the county clerk's office at the courthouse in Russell or online here.

Advance voting begins on July 20 at the county clerk's office and will continue through Monday, August 3 until noon. The county clerk's office is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Advance ballots will be mailed on July 15. For application form or ballot, call the county clerk's office at 785-483-4641.

The deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot is July 28. 

Voters are reminded that Kansas no longer allows the three-day grace period for advance ballots returned by mail. All advance ballots must be received by the Russell County Clerk's Office no later than 7 PM on August 4 to be counted.

Polls will be open from 7 AM to 7 PM on Tuesday, August 4. You are reminded to bring a photo ID when voting.

This year, there will be a Constitutional Amendment question on the Primary Election ballot. If you would like a sample ballot, go to the county clerk's office or https://myvoteinfo.voteks.org/VoterView.
