Former Lady Bronco Dortland Commits to Newman University

Tiffany Dortland, a 2019 Russell High School graduate who played for former head coach Frank Schulte announced this week on her Twitter page that she has committed to play Basketball for Newman University.

Dortland who led the Lady Broncos to three consecutive appearances in the Class 3A Sub-State Finals has played the last two seasons at Barton Community College, where during this past season she started all 26 games she played in while averaging 15.6 points per game for head coach Alan Clark.  Dortland appeared in 34 games for Barton during her Freshman season which included five starts.

Dortland will play for Drew Johnson who became the new head coach of the Jets Women's Basketball program on Tuesday, coming over from Bethel College after leading the Threshers to their first-ever appearance in the NAIA National Tournament during the 2020-21 season. Johnson is married to former Kansas State standout and WNBA star Nicole Ohlde-Johnson who will be a part of the Jets coaching staff.
