K-18 Baseball to Face Beloit Blue in TLL Tourney 1st Round

A shorthanded Russell K-18 Baseball team wrapped up the 2022 regular season Friday night with a road contest at Beloit Red.  

Russell had won the first contest between the two teams on June 22 at the Shaffer Field Complex but Beloit Red was on the winning side of the ledger Friday with an 8-0 victory.

Russell finishes the regular season with a 4-4 record and now turns its attention to postsesason play with the Twin Lakes League Tournament first up.

Russell, the #4 seed will host #5 seed Beloit Blue in the first round of the tournament on Tuesday, July 5 at the Shaffer Field Complex.  First pitch will be at 6:30 p.m. The winner of the game between Russell and Beloit Blue will meet #1 seed Smith Center in a semifinal contest Friday, July 8 at 2 p.m. in Beloit.

On the other side of the bracket, Lincoln just like Smith Center received an opening round bye and is the #2 seed.  They will take on the winner of Tuesday's game between #3 seed Beloit Red and #6 seed Wilson at approximately 5 p.m. Friday, July 8 in Beloit.  The Championship game will also be in Beloit later that evening.

The top four teams will advance to Regionals in Concordia July 12-17.
