Mooney Named New RHS Head Boys Basketball Coach

Brent Mooney has been named the new Head Boys Basketball Coach at Russell High School for 2024-2025.

The hire was approved Monday evening by the Russell County USD 407 Board of Education.

Mooney has served as an assistant coach the past two seasons under Cody Casey and Blaine Maier.

Mooney and wife Shanda own Waudby's Sports Bar and Grill in Russell.

Mooney's son Jake led the Broncos this past season as a sophomore scoring nine points per game.
