Ney Collects 500th Career Dig as RHS Volleyball Splits Opener

The Russell Lady Bronco Volleyball team, coming off a historic 2023 season, opened the 2024 campaign on Tuesday evening with a pair of matches at the Ellis Triangular.

In their first match of the new season, Russell defeated Phillipsburg two sets to one by scores of 20-25, 31-29 and 25-22.  In the nightcap against the host Lady Railers, Russell was bested in straight sets by scores of 25-21 and 25-12.

During the victory over Phillipsburg, senior Jaden Ney reached a milestone with her 500th career dig.  

The Lady Broncos will now set their sights on their home opener on Thursday, September 5 when they play host to Wheatland-Grinnell and Victoria.  First serve is set for 5 p.m.
