Russell Girls Remain Second, Boys Fifth in Latest KWCA Rankings; Ney, Zorn Both #1

The Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association has released its first rankings after the holiday break and both Russell High School girls and boys teams remain state ranked.

The RHS girls remain second in Class 3-2-1A, while the boys stay at #5.

The Oakley girls are the top ranked team followed by Russell, Norton, Plainville and Stockton. Hoisington is sixth followed by Ellinwood, St. Francis, Fredonia and West Franklin.

On the boys side, Hoxie remains #1 followed by Norton, Phillipsburg, Atchison County and Russell. Council Grove is sixth followed by Southeast of Saline, Jayhawk-Linn, Hill City and Caney Valley.

Seven Russell girls are state ranked this week.

Jaden Ney remains the top ranked wrestler in 3-2-1A at 145 pounds.

Kinsey Zorn is now the new #1 at 135.

Averie Counts is second at 130.

Mya Trevino is fourth at 115.

Chaysie Bachman is fifth at 125.

Ashlynn Henley moves up to fifth at 155.

Madison Raybern stays at #6 at 105.

Four members of the RHS boys team are state ranked.

Brayden Suchy drops one spot to third at 175 pounds.

Xzephren Donner is second at 113.

Xzander Donner is third at 106.

Teagen Pfeifer remains at #4 at 165.
