Russell's Mooney Named to KGCA Class 3A Boys Second Team All-State

Weeks after capping off a stellar High School career, Russell Broncos golfer Jake Mooney was rewarded on Thursday with an All-State honor.

Mooney was named to the Class 3A All-State Boys second team by the Kansas Golf Coaches Association. According to the KGCA, All-State honors are based off season-long scoring averages for players whose coaches are members of the association.  Mooney's father, Brent Mooney, served as head coach for Russell during the 2026 season.

Mooney won numerous tournaments this season including the Russell Invitational and was Class 3A Regional Champion.  Mooney wrapped up his career by qualifying for his fourth Class 3A State Tournament where he finished in fourth place, good enough to medal for the second year in a row.
