Diego Muller of Russell has earned an invitation to join the United Soccer League Academy Pool, a pathway for youth to advance and compete with other elite players in the USL system according to a press release.

Muller is the son of Kai and Angie Muller of Russell and currently plays soccer for Hays High School.  Muller also plays for FC Wichita's U19 team which participates in the Elite Clubs National League and the Elite Academy League.  They are the U19 EA Midwest Conference Champions and will play in the EA National Championship at Moneygram Park in Dallas, Texas June 3-5.

Muller will join other youth players to be trained alongside FC Wichita's Men's first team during the summer and then will be provided with supplemental matches and USLA matches throughout the calendar year, built around the ECNL schedule.

Because of his performance, Muller was selected to the USL Academy Pool, which is a pathway to the pros for youth players.  Muller is one of five High School juniors to earn this invitation, joining Logan Glover of Eisenhower High School, Gael "Fletcha" Landeros of Wichita East High School, Zach Pappan of Maize High School and Dominic Zuniga of Goddard High School.
