Victoria Girls Win Hoisington Winter Jam Title, Boys Take 7th

The Victoria Lady Knights, the number three seed in the Hoisington Winter Jam defeated top seed Cimarron Saturday 58-52 to win the tournament title at the Hoisington Activities Center.

Victoria's run began on Monday with a 47-24 win over #6 seed LaCrosse then the Lady Knights defeated #2 seed Ellinwood in Thursday's semifinal 63-57.

The Victoria Boys who won this tournament in 2019 had a tougher road.  The #8 seed Knights dropped their tournament opener to #1 seed Ellinwood on Monday 66-37 before falling to #5 seed Pratt Thursday in the consolation semifinal 56-40.  Victoria then closed out the tournament taking the seventh place game over #7 seed Otis-Bison 48-32.

Both teams will be back in action on Tuesday, January 26 when they make the 21-mile journey to Ellis to face the Railers in a non-league doubleheader.  Those games will be broadcast on KRSL 95.9 FM and online at krsl.com.  Pregame coverage will begin at around 5:50 p.m. with tip-off for the Girls game set for 6 p.m.
