Victoria's Huser Takes Part in Kansas Shrine Bowl

Kyle Huser, who capped a standout career for the Victoria Knights Football team in 2025 by helping the Knights to their second straight 8-Man Division ll State title game appearance, played in the Kansas Shrine Bowl on June 27 in Emporia.

Huser played for the West All-Stars in the contest held at Emporia State University's Welch Stadium.  The East All-Stars defeated their Western counterparts, 14-7.  

Huser, best known for his play on the defensive side of the ball, played primarily on the offensive line for part of the second quarter and most of the second half and played at left tackle.  

During Huser's time with the Knights under long-time head coach Doug Oberle, Victoria lost just one regular season game (a 20-14 defeat at Kinsley in the 2023 season opener) and advanced to the Sub-State Playoffs three straight years while also advancing to two straight State title games.  

Huser, who is signed to play Football this Fall at Ft Hays State, was one of three 8-Man players to play in the 53rd edition of the game and was just the sixth Victoria player to take part, joining Mitch Berens in 1987, Chad Hammerschmidt in 1989, John Ruder in 1989, Jordan Otley in 2009 and Brady Dinkel in 2016.

Kyle's brother Kirk also played Football for the Knights and their father Kevin was a member of Victoria's first-ever State Championship team in 1981 when the Knights captured the Class 2A crown.
