As of 3 PM, Wednesday, September 29, Russell County has had 1,019 total positive cases of COVID-19 since tracking began, an increase of 10 cases since Monday, according to the Russell County Health Department.

The current active and in isolation case count is 16 with 973 recovered cases, 69 hospitalizations with no current inpatients, 30 deaths and 17 in quarantine.

The average age of positive tests is 38.1. The age range for September is 10 months to 87 years old.

The cumulative positivity rate for this week is 10.8 percent. The cumulative positivity rate for September is 10.2 percent.

There have been 20 breakthrough infections or infections after vaccination. One new positive case had received the COVID vaccine. The other new positive cases were not vaccinated.

As of September 29, Russell County ranks 47th out of 105 counties in the state's vaccination rate, number of cases and number of tests given ranking. Russell County ranked 50th on Monday. The breakdown shows a vaccination rate of 44 percent, ranked 81st, average number of COVID cases at 29 per 100,000, ranked 41st, and average number of COVID tests given at 529 per 100,000, ranked 31st.
