Donations Now Accepted for 2024 Back-to-School Giveaway

The St. John Lutheran Church Back-to-School Giveaway project is now accepting donations of gently used clothing and shoes as well as new undergarments and socks and new personal care items.

The annual event provides all Russell area students preschool through high school the opportunity to prepare for the new school year. Each student may select gently used clothing and personal care items and will receive new undergarments and socks while supplies last. Thanks to the generous support of the community, there is no cost associated with the giveaway.

Gently used clothing donations may be placed in the box in the basement hallway at St. John Lutheran Church at 425 North Main Street in Russell. New socks and undergarments, personal care items and monetary donations will be accepted at the church office Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

Monetary donations will be utilized to purchase items not received through donation. Volunteers are needed to distribute flyers, sort donations, set-up and clean-up, assist students and families, and keep donation tables tidy during the giveaway.
