Drought conditions continue to spread north and east across Kansas after months of little precipitation.
According to the latest US Drought Monitor report, some level of drought conditions are being felt across most of the state except in eastern Kansas.
Russell, Barton, Ellis and Rush counties and most of Osborne and Rooks counties are reporting moderate drought conditions, while most of Ellsworth and Lincoln counties are experiencing abnormally dry conditions.
Severe to extreme drought conditions are being felt in far western and southwest Kansas.
Dry conditions are expected to continue for the next 7 to 10 days in the Russell area.
A reminder that the fire danger remains high across much of Kansas.
