Russell High School JAG-K Has Success at State Competition

Russell High School JAG-K had a day full of success on March 20 at the Jobs for America's Graduates-Kansas State Competition at Fort Hays State University in Hays.

RHS competed with high school and middle school programs from all over the state of Kansas and came home with some hardware according to advisor Raina Tomlinson.

Here are the results:

  • Fourth place to Blaine Furman for Financial Literacy.
  • Fourth place to Carolyne Martin for the submission of the Outstanding Chapter Notebook.
  • Outstanding Chapter achievement to the entire RHS JAG-K program.
  • Fifth place to Macy Patterson, Abby Strobel and Sam Whitten for their Project Based Learning presentation.
  • Third place to Hannah Gideon in Career Preparation.

Gideon will travel to St. Louis in April to compete in the JAG National Competition. She is the first RHS JAG-K student to make it to JAG Nationals.

In addition, Gideon was selected as this year's recipient of the JAG-K Senior Scholarship.
