Recipients of the 2024 Russell County Economic Development and Convention and Visitors Bureau Storefront and Signage Grant Program have been selected.

Collected applications were reviewed and scored on criteria such as project scope, impact and budget requirements.

The following businesses have been awarded grants for the 2024 program: Elan and Co. – Ally Ochampaugh, MK Studio and Salon – Kaylee Suchy, Luray Activity Center – Luray Community Foundation, Trashy Treasure Sisters – Monica Mullender, Handy Carwash – Jeremy Zorn, Dorrance Bankery – Anthony Mahoney, and Dolton Antiques and Hardware – Joe Dolton.

This program offers matching grant funds toward projects that include the development or improvement of business storefronts and signage and was designed to help create or enhance the promotion and physical appearance of Russell County and its businesses.

The program is funded by the half-cent sales tax for economic development and capital improvements and organized by Russell County Economic Development and CVB.

For this year only, in partnership with NetWork Kansas and the Big Kansas Road Trip, Russell County Economic Development and CVB offered a special program for the City of Lucas to prepare for the upcoming Big Kansas Road Trip that will be held May 2-5.

Those recipients are: Lynn's Glass Works and Laser Engraving – Lynn Schneider, Grassroots Art Center – Lucas Arts and Humanities Council, Switchgrass Collaborative – Lacie Austin, Horseshoe Lodge – Janice Parks, Brant's Meat Market, LLC – Ashley and Adam Comeau, and Hair Designs by Kim – Kimberly Steinle.
