Two Arrested in Barton County for Drugs

In the early morning hours of April 12 at about 2:30 AM, Barton County Sheriff's Deputies stopped a 2013 Chevrolet Impala near US Highway 281 and Northeast 50th Road in Barton County.

According to Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir, the vehicle was stopped for multiple equipment violations as well as traffic infractions.

A deputy contacted the driver identified as 28-year-old Triston Pitts of Geneseo. The officers became suspicious of possible drug activity and Sheriff's Office K9 Menta was called to the scene. The K9 indicated the presence of controlled substances in the vehicle. Further investigation revealed methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia as well as a set of brass knuckles.

Pitts was arrested and transported to the Barton County Jail without incident.

A passenger in the vehicle identified as 30-year-old Amanda Enriquez of Great Bend was also placed under arrest.

Pitts was booked on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and an unlawful weapon. Enriquez was booked on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both are being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
