Xzephren Donner and Karsyn Hamlin each won state championships and nine other members of the Russell Wrestling Club medaled at the USAWKS Kids Folkstyle State Tournament in Topeka March 8-10.

Donner went 3-0 and won his high school 106 pound division. Hamlin took her 12 and under 115 pound division with a 4-0 record.

Also for the girls, Aaliyah Trevino went 4-1 and placed second in her 12 and under 140 pound division. Arianna Weigel took third in her 12 and under 110 pound division with a 4-2 mark. Averie Counts went 4-2 and finished fourth in her 14 and under 136 pound division. Mya Trevino placed sixth in her high school 115 pound division with a 3-3 record. Nyliah Dinkel (10U/60) went 2-2. Adelyn Counts (10U/90) was 1-2. Katy Driscoll (12U/120) also went 1-2. Ruby Baxter (8U/80) was 0-2. Skylee McConnell (8U/110) went 0-2. 

For the boys, Brayden Suchy placed third in his high school 175 pound division with a 4-2 record. Quinton Trevino had a 3-2 record and finished third in his 12 and under 150 pound division. Xzander Donner took third in his 14 and under 95 pound division with a 4-2 mark. Bryson Feil went 4-2 and was fifth in his 10 and under 76 pound division. Kolten Jones placed sixth in his 14 and under 155 pound division with a 3-3 record. Preston Trout (10U/90) went 1-2. Wesley Johnson (10U/150) also was 1-2. Braigan Dinkel (12U/120) went 1-2. Lawson Feil (8U/73) was 0-2. Steele Rogge (10U/170) went 0-2. Peyton Gibson (14U/205) was 0-2.

The state tournament was held at Stormont Vail Events Center in Topeka.
