KSHSAA Announces Basketball Sub-State Tournament Assignments
The Kansas State High School Activities Association has announced the 2022-2023 Basketball Sub-State Tournament assignments.
Russell will host one of eight Class 3A Sub-States February 27 through March 4 hosting Beloit, Ellsworth, Southeast of Saline, Hoisington, Smoky Valley, Norton, Phillipsburg and Russell.
Seeding for Class 3A will be completed on Wednesday, February 22. On Monday, February 27, Class 3A girls will play quarterfinal games at the higher seeded team. On Tuesday, February 28, Class 3A boys will play quarterfinal games at the higher seeded team. On Thursday, March 2, Class 3A girls will play semifinal contests at the sub-state host site. On Friday, March 3, Class 3A boys will play semifinal contests at the sub-state host site. And on Saturday, March 4, Class 3A girls will play at 5:30 PM with the winner advancing to the state tournament. Class 3A boys will play at 7 PM with the winner advancing to the state tournament.
In Class 1A Division 1 from February 23 through March 4, Victoria will travel to Quinter with LaCrosse, Ness City, Decatur Community, Quinter and St. Francis. Sylvan-Lucas will travel to Solomon with Canton-Galva, Goessel, Lincoln, Elyria Christian, Solomon and Rural Vista.
In Class 1A Division 2, Wilson will travel to Ransom-Western Plains with Chase, Otis-Bison, Pawnee Heights, Stafford and Ransom-Western Plains. Natoma will travel to Tescott with Northern Valley, St. John's-Tipton, Thunder Ridge, Logan-Palco, Stockton and Tescott.
Sub-State seeding for Classes 1A Division 1 and 2 will be on Saturday, February 18. On Thursday, February 23, girls will play quarterfinal games at the higher seeded team. On Friday, February 24, boys will play quarterfinal games at the higher seeded team. On Thursday, March 2, girls will play semifinal games at the primary sub-state host site. On Friday, March 3, boys will play semifinal games at the primary sub-state host site. And on Saturday, March 4, will be a girls championship game at 5:30 PM followed by a boys championship game at 7 PM.
