Lady Broncos Swept at Ellis, Bronco Baseball Games Canceled

The Russell Lady Bronco Softball team wrapped up a three-doubleheader road swing on Friday with a pair of games at Ellis.

The Lady Railers recorded a sweep of the twinbill by scores of 13-3 and 21-6.  Russell-Victoria (1-13) returns to Memorial Park on Monday, April 22 when they host Sacred Heart.  Both games will be broadcast on KRSL 95.9 FM and online at KRSL.com with coverage beginning at 3:45 p.m. The Lady Broncos will also host Rooks County (Plainville-Stockton) for a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 26.  The games are a make-up of a snowed out twinbill from March 26.  

The games scheduled for Thursday, April 25 at Memorial Park against Sylvan-Lucas have been canceled and will not be made up.

BASEBALL GAMES AT ELLIS CANCELED

Russell-Victoria's Baseball doubleheader at Mid-Continentl League rival Ellis was canceled on Friday due to Ellis not having enough available players for the games.  By rule, the Broncos were awarded a pair of 7-0 forfeit victories and their overall record improves to 8-5.

Russell-Victoria is next in action on Tuesday, April 23 when they take a long road trip for a doubleheader in Liberal.  First pitch for Game 1 is set for 3 p.m.  The games at Liberal will be the Broncos' last two on the road for the regular season.

The Broncos are back at the Shaffer Sports Complex on Friday, April 26 when they host arch-rival TMP-Marian. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. with coverage beginning at 3:45 p.m. on KRSL 95.9 FM and online at KRSL.com
