LSL Baseball Sweeps Long Delayed Home Opener
The Lincoln-Sylvan-Lucas Leopards Baseball team played their first home games since 2019 on Thursday and they made the most of the home cooking.
Ryan Hageman's squad swept a doubleheader over Ellinwood on their home field in Lincoln by socres of 9-4 and 7-6 and snapped a four-game losing streak in the process.
Last season, the Leopards saw their entire season cancelled by the COVID-19 pandemic and two previously scheduled home doubleheaders this season were not played. One had to be shifted to Beloit due to wet grounds and a later twinbill against Ellis was snowed out.
Lincoln-Sylvan-Lucas (5-9) will continue their regular season-ending homestand on Monday, May 10 when they host Clay Center for a doubleheader with first pitch for Game 1 set for 4 p.m.
