Mooney Ties for 9th at Hays-TMP Invite

Russell High School's Jake Mooney finished tied for ninth place at the Hays-TMP Invite held Monday at the Smoky Hills Country Club in Hays.

Mooney, a sophomore at RHS posted a score of 87 and finished 11 strokes behind tournament winner Noah Dowell of Hoxie.  Other scores for the Bronco Golfers included, James Pummell placing 49th with a score of 104, Slayde Nuss tying for 62nd with a score of 111, Treiton Ryan posted a 131 to finish 79th and Joey Hurla finished 82nd with a score of 147.

Russell High School placed 12th out of 13 teams with a score of 433 while Hoxie won the tournament with a score of 350, finishing 16 strokes ahead of second place Goodland. 

The varsity Golfers will next be in action at the Ellsworth Invitational on Thursday, May 2.  Tee time is set for 3 p.m.
