RHS Girls 4th, Boys 7th at Lyons Wheaton Relays

The Russell High School Track and Field teams competed in windy conditions on Friday, April 5 at the Wheaton Relays hosted by Lyons High School.

The Lady Broncos placed fourth with 66 points with Little River winning the team title going away with 121 points.  On the Boys side, Russell was seventh as a team with 45 points while Moundridge far outpaced the competition with 141 points. 

Highlights for the Russell Girls included Kinsey Zorn winning the 400-meter dash and the 800-meter run, Aubrey Birney taking first place in the high jump and Macy Patterson wining the discus throw.

Highlights for the Boys included Trey Zorn recording a second place finish in  the 1,600-meter run and Brody Pfannenstiel took second in the shot put.  Pfannenstiel and Ian Strobel finished third and fourth respectively in the discuss throw.  

Both teams will next compete on Tuesday, April 9 at the Smith Center Invitational.  Events begin at 3 PM.
