Seth Schwien a four-year Football standout and three-sport athlete at Victoria High School signed a National Letter of Intent on Tuesday to play Football at Garden City Community College.

Schwien played for four years for longtime head coach Doug Oberle and during that time the Knights advanced to the 8-Man Division ll State Semifinals three times.  Schwien made an immediate impact during his freshman season when he sacked Wheatland-Grinnell Quarterback Trey Vincent to help the Knights finish off Wheatland-Grinnell in the 2020 Quarterfinals.

During the last three seasons, Schwien was a weapon in both the running game and passing game for the Knights as they steamrolled the competition while losing just two regular season games.  This past season, Victoria advanced to the Sub-State Final (State Semifinals) before falling at home to South Central.

During his time at Victoria High School, Schwien also played Basketball and has run track for the last two seasons.

The Broncbusters are coming off a 5-6 season in 2023 and will have a new head coach in 2024 as Kiyoshi Harris takes over the program from former coach Tom Minnick who departed after five seasons at the helm.

Victoria Athletics Director Dan Rogers who spoke at the signing along with Coach Oberle said most of Garden City's players are from out of state and he stated that Schwien will be one of the in-state players who will have an opporutnity to make a contribution to the program.
